Frequently Asked Questions
LiviPod was designed to accommodate a wide variety of pills shapes and sizes. However, it does not support
dispensing half-tabs, soft-gummy supplements, rubbery or sticky gels, crumbling pills, and pills that are
inconsistently shaped from one to another. We recommend using the scheduling feature without a LiviPod or ask
your pharmacist to for advice on alternative pill formats that can be accommodated. For half-tablets, you can also
purchase self-load
Individual LiviPods have a snap-lid to keep medications secure, but it is not a locking lid. The LiviPod Base
Station (coming soon) is an optional enclosure accessory that houses up to 10 LiviPods, has a physical key lock
on the front, and a transparent cover to keep your pills and supplements secure. In addition, there is a location on
the base station to attach a cable-lock, similar to those used for securing laptops to a stationary location.
Chalky or powdery medications and supplements can leave a residue over time. The plastic Pod and internal
plastics were designed for easy cleaning with typical household wipes. Do not submerge the LiviPod base unit
into any type of liquid. It is recommended to allow the Pod and plastic parts to dry completely before reloading
with pills or supplements.
Currently the LiviPod System uses low power Bluetooth technology in order for your mobile phone to
communicate directly to LiviPod. WiFi is only required for LiviPod "over the air" firmware updates, with future enhancements coming. Your
mobile phone does require access to WiFi or a cellular data plan in order to for the LiviPod App to reach our
servers, but the amount of data used is nominal and in-line with most other low-data applications you likely
already use on your phone.
The LiviPod App uses push notifications to alert you when medications or supplements are due, and these are
activated in-app under Settings, Notifications. In addition, you not only have granular flexibility in what
notifications you wish to receive, but the scheduling features allow you to configure your own thresholds in
minutes to hours, covering anything from low inventory to late or missed medications.
The LiviPod App can remind you or your loved one when it’s time to take medications or supplements that are
stored externally. The app will let you know when to take them and display any special instructions just like with
pills being physically dispensed from your LiviPod. These items are also tracked in your compliance history.
Download the LiviPod app and create your new account. Once logged into the app, click Settings, Help Center,
and launch the QuickStart Guide video from the Getting Started section of the help center knowledge-base. If you
are a registered user, you can also view the Quick Start Guide from the knowledge-base in the Getting Started
section.
LiviPod stores all important information in our secure cloud. If anything happens to your LiviPod hardware, your
information is safe. In the event of power loss, the LiviPod device itself will not operate but your medications can
be physically removed for manual access. If your LiviPod System includes our 10-unit Base Station, access to the
the LiviPods will require a key to open the secure cover.
If the location of your LiviPod System is prone to power losses, you can consider obtaining a small,
uninterruptible power supply which can provide emergency power to your LiviPod System.
The LiviPod App supports modern Apple iOS and Android phones. If you’re on an older device/OS and things
don’t install or connect reliably, it is advisable to update to the latest version available.
